Exploring Renaissance at Bella Vista

Summer is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the adventure has to stop!

If you believe in exploring the great outdoors with friends, family or even solo year-round, then this is the blog for you. And it just so happens that our new neighborhood, Renaissance at Bella Vista, is in the perfect area for all of your outdoor activity needs! Here are some of our favorite places found nearby this Bonadelle Neighborhoods community.

  1.     Millerton Lake

Millerton Lake is a beautiful little oasis that is less than two miles from Renaissance at Bella Vista, and has many opportunities for recreational activities. There are miles of open water perfect for taking the family boat out for a spin! If you just said “what family boat?!” luckily they have boat rental options at the Millerton Marina so that you can fulfill all of your water sports needs! Into fishing? The San Joaquin River, directly below Millerton Dam, is prime for some good trout and the occasional salmon!

Not only does Millerton have great water activities; it also has an abundance of activities on land. There are a variety of hikes in different lengths and levels of difficulty all throughout the area. Park rangers at the lake entrance are happy to help you find the hike that is right for you! Camping is available, too! The Millerton Lake State Recreation Area is a great place for camping. The lush green scenery makes for a very relaxing place to spend a day or two and the campsites are complete with amenities such as showers and electrical hookups.

Millerton is a must-visit during the summer! Learn more here: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=587

  1.     Woodward Park

Woodward Park is only a fifteen-minute drive from the Renaissance at Bella Vista neighborhood. This park offers 300 acres of land, playgrounds, rivers, ponds, gardens, and outdoor theaters perfect for your outdoor outings. This beautiful park has picnic structures, playgrounds, and bbq’s big enough to grill food for the entire family.

Woodward Park is also right along the San Joaquin River, making it a really fun place to explore, hike, and bike. With a trail running through the whole park and many smaller trails to wander, you will never get bored on your morning run with this park view.

Woodward Park also has their beautiful Shinzen Japanese Garden. This garden has beautiful flowers, architecture, and a river. On August 11th, 2018 from 7 to 9 PM, the Japanese Garden is having a lantern lighting ceremony you won’t want to miss.

There are also opportunities for live theater in the park. The theater company, Woodward Shakespeare, puts on shows on their outdoor stage every month for free! Their upcoming show is Much Ado Without Nothing which runs from August 2nd to August 25th.

Woodward Park has an activity for everyone! See for yourself: https://www.fresno.gov/parks/parks-trails-facilities/

Summer Nights, Had Me A Blast!

Summer is in full swing, and long days and warm nights are what summer is all about! We hope you have been soaking up the sun and enjoying it so far! If you’re looking for some summer activities to do, we’ll help you out! Summer’s for relaxing, so let us do the heavy lifting.

Fresno and Clovis both have great summer nightlife to keep you entertained all season long! We’ve done our research, and here are some of our favorites:

Farmers Markets:

Friday evenings, Old Town Clovis hosts a bustling Farmers Market filled with live music and smiling faces! Two of our communities, Nuovo Terraces and The Grove III, are located just right down the road from the FM! Fresno also has amazing Farmers Markets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Kern Street and Riverpark respectively).

Family Activities

We just touched the tip of the iceberg on all that can be done this summer, now it’s up to you to go have all the fun!

Wild Waters/The Island

Stay cool this summer at Wild Water Adventure Park and The Island Water Park! Wild Water is located just outside of Clovis, on Shaw, and boasts a cooling 52-acres of water-rides and activities. The Island Water Park is right outside of Fresno, off Highway 99 and Barstow, and has a handful of water attractions for the kids, but more importantly, it has the Waimea Lazy River…which we highly recommend! Remember to put on some sunblock, then sit back and relax.

Either one of these two attractions is perfect for beating the heat and having a good time with the family!

¡Somos Zorros!

Did you know that Chukchansi Park also hosts a Professional Soccer Club? The Fresno Grizzlies have been sharing the park with The Fresno Foxes since March 2018, and if you haven’t been to a game yet, put it on your calendar. The energy is high and the food is good! There is seating for everyone: the rowdy fan, the quiet onlooker, the cheering family, and everyone in between. Grab the family and go see what the hubbub is all about! ¡Somos Zorros!

Enjoy your summer, and stay cool! We know some of you took advantage of the pool sized lots that Bonadelle Neighborhoods offers, and are enjoying that mini-backyard paradise all summer long! Blow up those floaties and float through summer in comfort!
