Community Medical Centers Receives $25,000 COVID-19 Relief Grant from Bonadelle Neighborhoods to Support Frontline Staff
Community Medical Centers recently received a $25,000 grant from Bonadelle Neighborhoods in support of our hospitals’ fight against the coronavirus crisis.
This grant will specifically fund Community’s Employee Assistance Programs, benefitting hospital staff. These programs were created to help with unforeseen expenses for staff who may become ill or to offset childcare costs.
“Our family is grateful to our courageous frontline healthcare personnel, such as the staff at Community Medical Centers, who work tirelessly saving lives with little to no recognition,” said John Bonadelle, Bonadelle Neighborhoods CEO. “Through our gift, we honor those who risk their lives every day to ensure the health and safety of our community. We take pride in creating generational impact and believe this gift will have a lasting impact on the healthcare in our community.”
Through this grant, Community employees will receive daycare support or relief if they test positive as the result of workplace exposure. These dollars will be put to work immediately as requests from employees for financial help is ongoing. To date, Community’s Employee Assistance Programs have helped more than 1,400 employees and covered more than 13,000 hours of staff time since April.
An anonymous donor recently stepped forward to match any gift up to $500,000 to support Community’s employee assistance programs received by August 31. The Bonadelles wanted to help maximize that match.
“We are so appreciative of this gift from Bonadelle Neighborhoods led by Lisa and John Bonadelle. Because of their generosity, this gift was matched by an anonymous donor and turned into $50,000 of support for our healthcare heroes battling COVID-19,” said Katie Zenovich, Senior Vice President of Development and External Affairs and Chief Fund Development Officer at Community. “Our dedicated staff, return day after day, night after night and risk their own health to take care of us, our families, our community. It means so much to them to have support from folks like Lisa and John.”
